Why PDFIntro

privacy is the architecture, not a setting

Nothing is uploaded

Every operation runs in your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript. Your documents are never transmitted to a server.

No accounts, no queues

There is no backend to wait on. Open a tool, drop a file, get a result — instantly, offline-capable after first load.

Genuinely fast

Because there is no round-trip to a server, most operations finish in the time it takes to read this sentence.

How it works

three steps, zero uploads
01

Pick a tool

Choose from organise, convert, edit and optimise tools — or hit ⌘K to jump straight there.

02

Drop your file

Drag a PDF or image in. It loads into memory on your device, never to a server.

03

Download

The result is generated locally and saved straight to your downloads folder.

Questions

the short versionFull FAQ →
Correct. PDFIntro has no server that receives documents. Files are read directly in your browser and all processing happens on your device using PDF-lib and PDF.js.
After the first load the core libraries are cached by your browser, so most tools keep working without a connection.
The only limit is your device’s available memory. Very large files (hundreds of pages) are handled, but rasterising tools like compress will use more RAM.
No PDFIntro login or sign-up. Free tools work immediately. Pro uses Stripe checkout — we email a restore link if you switch browsers or devices.
Organise, convert, and edit tools — including the drag-and-drop PDF editor at /edit — are free. Pro ($6/mo) unlocks compress, flatten, metadata removal, password protect, unlock, OCR, workflows, and saved presets.
